Cold Laser Therapy
Cold laser therapy uses low-intensity laser lights for safe and effective healing of injured and inflamed tissue.
At Thornhill Foot Clinic, we use the Theralase TLC-2000 system to relieve pain and treat inflamed and/or injured tissue of the lower extremity. This system jumpstarts the healing process by promoting increased blood flow to the area. Since the laser used operates within a specific wavelength range that is non thermal (the “therapeutic window”), there is no risk of tissue damage or other complications.
Theralase lasers supply the body with billions of photons of light at specific wavelengths. The body is able to absorb this laser light on a cellular level and turn it into chemical energy, which the body uses to naturally repair its own tissue. This whole process causes a bio-stimulating effect that decreases pain and inflammation while increasing tissue regeneration and accelerated healing.
Many patients report immediate pain relief after the first few treatments. True healing will then occur after a few more sessions of treatment. Cold laser therapy is proven one of the quickest, safest and most effective ways of healing and pain relief for damaged tissue.
